AIMS
We want to investigate the possible health effects of using novel nicotine and tobacco-containing products, i.e. e-cigarettes and heat-not-burn devices (e.g. IQOS), compared with smoking conventional cigarettes. To do this, we want to assess what potentially harmful chemicals enter the bodies of people using these products compared with those not using these products.

INVOLVEMENT
Complete the screening survey.
You will be emailed with more info & asked to schedule a visit to UCL.
Before the session, you will be asked not to: use any nicotine/tobacco products, eat food, drink alcohol or use the toilet from 1 hour before the visit.
At the session, we will ask to take your heart rate & breath measurements & ask you to provide a urine sample.
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire about yourself, your health & smoking behaviour.
If you use e-cigarettes or IQOS, you will be asked to use your own product for 5 mins outside & then repeat the heart & breath measurements and another questionnaire. This will be the end of the study.
If you are a current smoker, you will be asked to use either an e-cigarette or IQOS (provided by the researcher) & then repeat the heart & breath measurements & another questionnaire. You will then be asked to schedule a second session to try the alternative product a week later.
